Types of stove top coffee makers…

Bodum Chambord 12oz Stainless Steel 6 Cup Stovetop Espresso Maker

The Bodum Chambord has the capacity to hold 27 ounces. Made from stylish stainless steel, it will brew your espresso in just minutes. There is a safety valve that regulates the steam pressure. Remember that a stove top espresso pot gives you percolated espresso (which is different from a traditional espresso shot). Do not expect any crema, that’s not what a percolate espresso is meant to give you. It’s easy to screw the top to the bottom. Cleaning the Bodum Chambord is easy.  Disassemble your pot once it has cooled down. If this is your first experience making a pot of percolated espresso remember to go slowly. Use a percolated grind as you don’t want to use anything fine that will clog up the filter. Ensure your heat is set low. Make sure you turn off the heat once the water is exhausted and the percolated head is hissing.

Bialetti Moka Express Stovetop Espresso Maker

The Bialetti Moka Express  is made in Italy from durable polished aluminium. Has a unique octagon shape. There’s a side-pour spout and and flip up lid. This is probably wrongly termed an espresso machine.  It is a Moka machine.  An espresson is made with steam or a high pressure machine with crema on top – this machine will not make you one of these. Don’t use detergents, just use tap water and do not put it in the dishwasher. Remember to use good quality coffee that is not too strong – medium grind is best. Heat your coffee at a very low heat even it takes 12 minutes to warm up. Don’t let the coffee boil and removed it from the heat as soon as the coffee reaches the top.

Villaware V003-41810 Aromatico Stovetop Espresso Maker – 10 cup

The Villaware V003-41810 stop top coffee maker which is made in Italy is constructed from high quality stainless steel. It’s better to avoid cooking with aluminium so this is a good coffee making solution. You can use it on gas, electric or induction stoves. It’s called a 10 pot coffee maker but I can only get 8 cups out of it. It’s difficult to screw together tightly, but I don’t think it’s supposed to. Some have reported water coming out through the steam valve. Make sure you watch the water level as it can overflow if you fill the bottom with water.  If you fill it so it’s just below the pressure / steam release you will be fine.
